Cleaning
Accommodation, corridors, corridor kitchens and storage facilities are to be cleaned by tenants. Please ask your caretaker for any tips. Stairs and laundry rooms are normally cleaned once a week by AF Bostäder. Help us to keep things tidy by leaving areas in the condition you would like to find them in.
Waste
Sort your waste in the facilities we provide. It is not permitted to store waste in corridors, stairwells or on balconies. Household waste shall be properly packaged. Follow the instructions that are displayed. Advertising and printed matter distributed via letterboxes should be removed by tenants and can be discarded at the recycling stations. If you don't want junk mail in your letterbox, you can collect a "Reklam undanbedes" sticker ("No junk mail please") from Customer Service Centre. Read more about our environmenal work.
Fridge and freezer
Defrost the refrigerator and freezer regularly. Do not hack away at the ice as the refrigerating coils can be damaged. More modern refrigerators have automatic defrosting.
Cooker and fan
Frying pans and saucepans should have a flat bottom and be the same size as the cookeer hotplates to be energy-efficient. Remember also to keep the fans, fan filters and valves clean. Do not open doors to stairs for ventilation or to get rid of fumes while cooking. Read more about the energy-saving tips.
Bath, shower and drain
Ceramics and tiles shall be cleaned with a soft brush and mild cleaning agent. Abrasive pads that have a grinding effect must not be used under any circumstances since they can destroy surfaces. Wipe walls and floors to avoid lime scale - use a rubber scraper if you can. Clean the floor well and the water trap at regular intervals. Never drill holes in tiles since this can result in moisture and mould damage. Do not flush anything but toilet paper down the toilet. Other objects (even cotton material) can cause block drains. Report any fault immediately if you experience problems with taps, WC or drains. Note: never use caustic soda – it can cause caustic injuries to yourself and damage to waste pipes.
Private installations
Machines in kitchens and bathrooms shall be connected using an earthed plug inserted in an earthed socket. If you acquire your own washing machine or dishwasher you may need a permanent connection to the cold water supply and this must be done by a qualified installer. Note that you are responsible for any leakages. Additional furnishings such as shower curtains, mirrored walls, fitted carpets and machines are not normally included as standard. Such furnishings and equipment are not maintained or replaced by AF Bostäder. If you install or take over such equipment and the next tenant does not wish to take it over, you are responsible for removing such equipment and restoring the accommodation to its original condition.
NOTE! Some of the venetian blinds are the property of AF Bostäder. See the exception for blinds in your tenancy agreement.
